Sunday Night…Hello to the Blues

26 Apr

Who has not ever suffered from sunday blues, also known as Sunday Night Syndrome? As the evening comes, my playlist automatically changes to Sunday Night playlist…[Nostalgie,Nostalgie] They signal the end of my brief respite from work and my mind usually churns about odd things.. After a wonderful Saturday, the fun ends: Preparations, mental and physical, for the workweek begin. It’s like the grownup version of getting called in from playing outside. You reflect on your weekend with the impending working week dangling in front of your nose like a rancid carrot and you think:

“Well, that was nice. But what have I actually done?”

Here’s how my sunday usually goes.

I usually never go out on Sundays, because I think that sundays are meant to “rest”, lazying around, watching tv and stay in pyjama all day long, especially after a Saturday shopping, salsa-ing and partying. I wake up late, finally a day when i get to sleep till noon or later, in winter its going to be even later 😉 I  take my breakfast, infront of the tv or while reading the newspaper. Then its going to be movie time, under a hot blanket with my cat, until late in the afternoon when i finally decide to have a long shower. Later, actual job-related work kicks in. I log in to my work e-mail account from home and check the week ahead – a bad habit I started a few months ago, encouraged through the convenience of webmail. My mind spins: What do I need to do to prepare for Monday? Any meetings? Do I need to write anything?

And finally, at night i watch my favorite serial, kavyanjali and either I play UNO or scrabble or chat with some friends!

What actually boosted up my mood this sunday is a quote from a friend: Solo se viva una vez – we live only once…

The perfect ending to a nostalgic day… !

xx…Have a Nice Week blog & bloggers…xx

.:::The perfect dreams of a girl:::.

16 Apr

When she was small, she dreamt of a perfect world. A future where everything will be bright, beautiful.  She dreamt of beautiful castles, palaces, beautiful dresses. She dreamt of a perfect career, a perfect job, a job she loves, great colleagues, superb working atmosphere. She dreamt of a  delightfully handsome, charming, clever and refined prince with whom she will fall in love and with whom she is going to live the rest of her life happily ever after.  She dreamt of the perfect love story, where the prince gallantly rescues her from the rain when she falls, sustaining a sprained ankle, carrying her in his arms and she has her first french kiss which will last for an eternity. She dreamt of a perfect wedding wearing the perfect white wedding dress with a nice bouquet and saying yes to the guy she fell in love with  those twinkles in her eyes. She dreamt of the perfect ring, which willl symbolise lots of things. She dreamt of having cute and beautiful children with golden curly hair and bright eyes. She dreamt of a perfect small house, full of laughter, of joy and a garden where there will be a dog playing and flowers blooming, and maybe a small fountain where she will sit by the moonlight with the one she loves. She dreamt of watching her children grow into adults and she dreamt of being by the side of the one she loves till she grows old and be each other’s support.  She dreamt of a love which will never fade but instead increase day by day.  She dreamt of a lifetime of respect, care, sharing, laughter, cries, joys, fun.

And then one day, she wakes up and realise that dreams are but illusions. She does grow up into a beautiful princess but there is no perfect future, no perfect job, no perfect colleagues, no perfect love. The perfect fairy tale has disappeared. She stumbles, falls, fails, cries, gets rejected, gets hurt, even hurts others, lies, betrays, make mistakes, learn lessons. She just lives by the law of nature, she lives each day of her life, hoping for a better tomorrow. She does get a job but not the perfect one, not the one she dreamt of. And…there is no delightfully handsome, charming, clever and refined prince who will take her breath away. But there are some “princes” which come and then leave, but none to rescue her from the rain when she falls. The french kiss is finally not so magical. She finds herself adapting to situations she never dreamt of.  She has to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until she can’t anymore. Until she finally understands…and thats where she opens her eyes and realised that it was just a fairy tale…a mere illusion. Then she starts to live; instead of wanting the perfect job, the job she loves, she works for money. She spends most of her time working and working. No time to think about anything else. Love…becomes just a random play. She turns to things or people she can “trust” but she doesn’t really deep inside.  When she seeks for a life partner, she no longer seeks for a lifetime of love, she seeks for a lifetime of security. And even if she does happen to “love” someone, soon this illusion disappears, love fades and routine takes place. Her perfect life partner is now someone who instead of watching the moonlight by the water fountain, will just have a 5 mins dinner with her two days a week. Whether she likes that person or not, it doesnt matter as long as he is the right person for a “perfect” future…

Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and biting her in the ass. And when the dam bursts, all she can do is swim. The world of pretend is a cage, not a cocoon. she can only lie to herself for so long.  She is tired, she is scared, denying it doesn’t change the truth. Sooner or later she has to put aside her denial and faces the world… and walks the lonely road, unaware of its destination.

But as Meredith said, its hard for her to let go of that fairy tale entirely because she has that smallest bit of hope, of faith that one day she will open her eyes and all this will come true…

Greys anatomy is backkk

15 Apr

Grey’s Anatomy is an American primetime medical drama. It debuted on ABC as a mid-season replacement for Boston Legal on March 27, 2005, immediately following Desperate Housewives. The show was originally supposed to be called “Complications”. Every episode shares the name with a song title by a popular artists. Several are named after The Beatles and R.E.M.songs

The title of the show is inspired by the classic medical textbook Gray’s Anatomy. The series revolves around Dr. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, who began the show as a surgical intern at Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington. The characters of the series include a group of surgical interns and the various physicians who serve as mentors to the interns in their professional and personal lives.

For one week, there were no episodes of Greys Anatomy on CanalPlus. 😦 And on Monday, it started again! 🙂 It is one of my best tv shows ever. Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Coupling, Seconde Chance are other tv serials which I am fan of.  My favorite being Friends, i never get tired of the lives, loves and laughs of the six out there in Manhattan.

However greys anatomy somehow reflects the reality facing the interns, and the doctors everyday. And I have realised that to be doctor, to be facing this kind of situation everyday, you got to be really strong emotionally. Saving lives of people or trying to do is a challenge itself …and sometimes they just do it out of trials and errors. :O

So finally, Im happy being a cool programmer and graphic designer who instead of having to deal with people and playing around with hearts, intestines, brain stuffs  deals calmly with a series of 0s and 1s on my computer.

Some of the quotes which I found pretty cool from G.A :

Dr. Meredith Grey: At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy. That’s how we’re made. So, you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines… that are way too dangerous to cross.

Dr. Meredith Grey: You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true.

Dr. Meredith Grey: At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don’t really expect it. It’s like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it’s not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away.

Dr. Meredith Grey: I’ve heard that it’s possible to grow up – I’ve just never met anyone who’s actually done it. Without parents to defy, we break the rules we make for ourselves. We throw tantrums when things don’t go our way, we whisper secrets with our best friends in the dark, we look for comfort where we can find it, and we hope – against all logic, against all experience. Like children, we never give up hope…

Dr. George O’Malley: I know I’m not a lot of things that you’ve gone for in the past – I know, but I would never leave you. I would never hurt you. And I will never stop loving you…

Aloe Vera

13 Apr

Aloe vera has been used around the world for thousands of years. It is indeed the new trend nowadays, but the virtues of Aloe vera have been proved many times. Many people have been using this for many purposes.

Many ancient works, including the Bible, refer to the use of aloe. One of the first documented users of aloe vera was Cleopatra, who lived from 68 to 30 B.C. She is said to have used the gel on her skin as protection from the sun, and to have thought the gel helped to keep her skin young-looking. In fact, the Egyptians may have used aloe vera in their embalming of bodies, among other uses.

About the year Six B.C., Dioscorides, a Greek physician, discovered aloe vera was effective in treating a wide range of ailments, from kidney problems and constipation, to severe burns of the skin.

Today aloe vera continues to be widely used around the world. Studies have shown that aloe vera speeds the healing process, particularly in burns, including those from radiation. It is also used by dermatologists to speed healing after facial dermabrasion, which removes scars from the skins top layers.

For years, I have been looking for a natural product for my skin. I have a very sensitive one, prone to sun burns and pimples. Since January, I have been using a 100% natural product which contains Aloe Vera. Im using the “Forever Living products”.  It is indeed a miracle product since now I can  go in the sun without fearing sun burns, since i apply the Forever Living Sunscreen. Since then, I have become a fan of Aloe vera, and also its make up, which I highly use during my beauty therapy course. 🙂

If you are looking for a good cream for your skin girls and guys, I would highly recommend you FOREVER LIVING PRODUCTS. Since I’ve been buying many of its products, I’m now an official distributor of FOREVER LIVING PRODUCT. Unfortunately they are not available in pharmacies or stores, you should contact  one of its official distributor to have the products.

So if you want to have further information about the products do contact me or have a look at the forever living official site :  http://www.foreverliving.com

My first Salsa Lesson 1#

11 Apr

I twirl, leap and spin I jump … Hot && Sweaty “Salsa-aa-aa”

Today i began my first Salsa course. Actually one of my friend had already started the course some months back and asked me if i wanted to join in and i just said yes, and invited some of my other friends as well. So finally, we were six to join the Salsa class. When we arrived at the Dance Studio in Rose-Hill, there was about 25-30 persons enrolled for this course. They all seemed professional, whereas me and my friends went there just to have some fun. However when the lesson started, we realised that we were all beginners. I didn’t know what this dance was, or what I was getting into. The very first steps were awkward, but soon found their mark. We learn some basic steps and were attributed a partner. Luckily, i got Irsh as partner.

My first Salsa experience was awesome, we had so much fun. The instructor was really cool and appreciated very much our effort (though we didnt do much). When the instructor put on the music, our moves came together in a way I cant describe. The driving beat of the music makes you want to move. When you dance with your partner and make a connection, this dance can turn passionate and sensual in a sexy way. I am really looking forward for the next lesson.

Our next lesson will be on different hand-holds, counting and timing, and other basic steps.

mmm

So that’s all for today about my wonderful Saturday. More to come… 😉

On this…Night Night blog! Pain Pain & Pain…Seems like i’m going to get a great night sleep & dream of my Prince 🙂
